Our favorite local TV station, NBC’s LX New York, has invited Flowers of the World to share our best Valentine’s Day floral design tips this Friday, February 5. Check out FOTW’s co-owner, Peter Grontas, on NBC during the 5-6pm hour, as he shows off some romantic floral arrangements that will warm your Valentine’s heart on February 14. In case you miss it, we’ll post the link on our blog next week.
This week, we’ve decorated our windows for our favorite holiday of the year: Valentine’s Day! Since February 14, 2010, falls on a Sunday, we realize many lucky lovers will be taking weekend getaways — either real or imagined! As such, we’ve stocked our stores with giant vintage model airplanes, romantic foreign newspapers, and gorgeous fresh flowers that say “I Love You,” no matter where your heart is on Valentine’s Day. We hope our windows get you in the mood for love, and, of course, in the mood to start shopping for your love! Check out our Valentine’s Day specials on our web site, or visit our store to see them in person.

As a reminder, order for delivery before February 10th (you know your Valentine wants the whole office to see those flowers!) and get 5% off your order.
Our first Flower School of 2010 was a smashing success! Flowers of the World hosted an intimate group of inquisitive — and, it turns out, incredibly talented! — students, who arrived at the downtown studio on Tuesday evening as novices, and left as floral-design experts. A big thank-you to our wine connoisseur, Seth from The Greene Grape, who led our guests through a fascinating tasting, and sent them home properly relaxed, with their gorgeous, lush Flowers of the World arrangements in tow. We’ve posted some snapshots below, and hope to see YOU in the photos from our next Flower School!
There’s just 20 days left until Valentine’s Day, and love is in the air! Since this year’s holiday falls on a Sunday, we’ve got weekend getaways in mind — in fact, we’ve already packed our suitcases… full of lush pave roses!
For luxurious gifts for your lover, check out Flowers of the World’s limited-edition 2010 Valentine’s Day arrangements, now available on our web site. We know our stunning blooms will help you run away with your Valentine’s heart on February 14. If our gorgeous fresh flowers aren’t enough for your Valentine, though, this year we’ve partnered with the legendary Peninsula Hotel for special spa treats, and the critically acclaimed Oceana Restaurant for a romantic dinner. And if you spend more than $250 on our Valentine’s Day arrangements, we’ll enter you in a “Raffle of Love” for airline tickets for your own romantic weekend getaway! Take a look at some of this year’s Flowers of the World Valentine’s Day arrangements below, then visit our web site to get an early start on holiday shopping.
This week, as you can see from our windows, our downtown boutique has an orange crush. One of Flowers of the World’s talented designers, Jacob (who also takes many of the gorgeous photos you see on this blog) created a window saturated with color, featuring the luscious “Orange Favorite” cymbidium orchid as its focal point. Roses were created using a satiny orange ribbon, and are captured inside wound aluminum wire. The window is all about jealousy, said Jacob, who imagined the cymbidium orchids imprisoning the roses for being so beautiful. Check out his work below.
