Wintertime at FOTW

Winter is in the air and also in our windows here at FOTW. Winter in the flower world allows us to be creative with its seasonal accents. We love using birch poles to create an interesting dynamic between flowers and branches. In this week’s windows, our designers created an elegant winter scene with the use of long birch poles interlaced with beautiful chocolate cymbidiums! One glance at these windows and it will sure get you in the winter spirit!

Cool and Contemporary

We love a wedding that exudes romance with a little bit of drama. This past weekend’s wedding of Merissa and Aurelio at Espace in New York City was just that. Our Director of Special Events, Lauren Romao, created the couple’s wedding fantasy with beautiful Laurel branches and delicate white Dendrobium Orchids in tall cylinders accented by hanging white candles. Floating globes of Hydrangea hung from the ceiling as a cool blue light was cast around the contemporary space.

Congratulations Merissa and Aurelio! So glad FOTW was a part of your special evening!

Hurricane Wedding Bells

As Hurricane Irene prepared to blow into the New York City area this past weekend, FOTW was busy designing and executing the decor for a beautiful couple’s wedding at the Ritz-Carlton, Battery Park.

Danielle and Thad were married in a simple elegant ceremony with a feminine ivory Chuppah accented by crystals with blush and champagne flowers. Danielle carried a sophisticated bouquet of Roses and Phalaenopsis Orchids in creamy blush hues. For a unique escort card table, we used a antique apple green birdcage with coordinating petal linens and gorgeous Roses and Hydrangea. The reception centerpieces were stunning displays of fuschia Hydrangea and mango Dahlias complimented by hanging Amarathus and Philodrendron leaves. Bright pink floating candles were the perfect final touch to a fresh and bright table. Our sister company, Intelligent Lighting, created the perfect mood with dramatic yet warm tones.

Congratulations Danielle & Thad!

Summer Jewel Tones

We love the opportunity to work with feminine and bright floral hues for a gorgeous summer wedding. This weekend’s wedding of Kerah and Gary at Trump Soho’s “Soho Ballroom” was a beautiful affair from start to finish.

FOTW created a stunning entry way with an escort card table of Manzanita branches with delicate pink Cymbidium orchids, hanging crystal garland and jeweled candle holders to add sparkle.

For the simple, yet elegant ceremony, drapings of ivory satin and chiffon were the perfect soft compliment to tall displays of white Hydrangea and Dendrobium Orchids sitting atop silver pedestals.

For the reception, we stepped it up with bright pops of color on silver crinkle taffeta linens all lit by pink and purple lighting. Fuchsia Phalaenopsis Orchids, vibrant purple Hydrangea, twisted pink Calla Lilies and bursts of green Cymbidium Orchids in tall vases made breathtaking tablescapes as guests danced the night away and toasted the happy couple.

We are so happy to share the breathtaking photos from a recent Yale Club wedding this summer given to us by Fred Marcus Photographers. The beautiful Korean/American wedding of Charles and Kejia featured two different style table arrangements with deep burgundy Peonies, Roses and Cordyline with natural branch accents. The lower three-piece installation had a splash of chartreuse that added a pop of bright color around the room.  Elegant matching bouquets were the perfect accessory for the bride and her maids.
