Hurricane Wedding Bells

As Hurricane Irene prepared to blow into the New York City area this past weekend, FOTW was busy designing and executing the decor for a beautiful couple’s wedding at the Ritz-Carlton, Battery Park.

Danielle and Thad were married in a simple elegant ceremony with a feminine ivory Chuppah accented by crystals with blush and champagne flowers. Danielle carried a sophisticated bouquet of Roses and Phalaenopsis Orchids in creamy blush hues. For a unique escort card table, we used a antique apple green birdcage with coordinating petal linens and gorgeous Roses and Hydrangea. The reception centerpieces were stunning displays of fuschia Hydrangea and mango Dahlias complimented by hanging Amarathus and Philodrendron leaves. Bright pink floating candles were the perfect final touch to a fresh and bright table. Our sister company, Intelligent Lighting, created the perfect mood with dramatic yet warm tones.

Congratulations Danielle & Thad!

Engerized at the Ritz

Many powerful business executives gathered for a very special reception for e8 Global Electricity at the Ritz-Carlton, Battery Park’s Rise event space. Ashley and the FOTW team were commissioned to create a design scheme using bright “energized” summery shades. The cocktail arrangements included floating coral Peonies while the larger banquet tables featured arrangements of that same lush Peony paired with a bright green Viburnum.  A tall bar arrangement used Peonies in a larger display that was perfect for the space and included playful tropical leaves.

This past Saturday evening we were very excited to design the decor for the wedding of lovely couple, Lyubov and Edward. The pair were married at the beautiful Grace Church, a 150-plus year old church in downtown Manhattan.

After the wedding bells rang, the couple headed to the Ritz-Carlton Battery Park with their friends and family for an elegant reception.  The gorgeous spring weather was the perfect backdrop for cocktails overlooking the harbor. Lauren Romao and the creative FOTW team designed chic cocktail arrangements of white tulips twisting in cylinders. For the dinner and dancing portion of the evening, FOTW designed a contemporary display of mixed purple hydrangea, twisting cream calla lilies and classic ivory roses. Varying height cylinders accented by floating lavender candles helped set the romantic mood.

Ladies Who Lunch

When the culinary delights of a “Master Chef” are on your plate, it’s only fitting to have masterful flowers to match. Last week, Flowers of the World created extravagant table designs at a lovely luncheon in the Ritz-Carlton Battery Park’s Rise event space, where New York City’s best bridal editors enjoyed a delicious meal by famed French Master Chef — and executive chef at the hotel — Jacques Sorci.

Editors dined around three distinct table settings: a lush explosion of creamy white amaryllis, an architectural exhibit of twisted mango calla lilies, and an exquisite display of luxurious pink phalaenopsis orchids. Let us know which one is your favorite of the fabulous installations below!

Falling In Love

Fall is the new Spring for weddings, and Flowers of the World has been in high demand! Last weekend our talented events designer Yena created a romantic white wonderland at the Ritz-Carlton New York, Battery Park for the beautiful couple Armen and Alexander.
The ballroom was decorated with lush centerpieces of white hydrangea and Dendrobium orchids, with dramatic sprays of calla lilies shooting out from each display. Alternating tables featured a luxurious low mix of white blooms, complemented by a modern twist of calla lilies in small glass cylinders. A striking display of manzanita branches, covered with white phalaenopsis orchids, elegant crystals and hanging tea lights, made an extravagant first impression as guests arrived for dinner. Congratulations to Armen and Alexander, and thank you for letting us be a part of your special day!
