This year’s 9/11 memorials held a special place in our hearts, as it was the tenth anniversary of the day the towers fell. Each year, we are often asked to design decor for memorials around Manhattan for those who were lost. A memorial dinner at Harbor Lights Restaurant in the South Street Seaport remembered a man who was very special to many. Flowers of the World created a simple elegant, yet patriotic event scape with white and bright blue Hydrangea, twisted Calla Lilies, Blue Delphinium, Green Trick Carnations and Calathea leaves.

We were honored to be a part of this celebration of this individual’s life as well as all of those lost on 9/11. Although they are gone, they are never forgotten.

Classic Romance

It’s amazing to see how our different brides and grooms express their personal style for their weddings. For the recent wedding of Debbie and Allen at the Ritz-Carlton, Battery Park, it was luxe classic romantic style all the way. Although we know that so many types of exotic blooms can express romance– nothing says it quite as well as the red Rose. FOTW created centerpieces with Roses in varying red hues with accents of twisting plum Calla Lilies and jeweled cylinders to add a touch of glitz. Our good friends at Ron Ben-Israel designed the wedding cake to match the centerpieces and the delicate lace on Debbie’s gorgeous gown.

We wish the beautiful couple many years of love and happiness!

Summer Jewel Tones

We love the opportunity to work with feminine and bright floral hues for a gorgeous summer wedding. This weekend’s wedding of Kerah and Gary at Trump Soho’s “Soho Ballroom” was a beautiful affair from start to finish.

FOTW created a stunning entry way with an escort card table of Manzanita branches with delicate pink Cymbidium orchids, hanging crystal garland and jeweled candle holders to add sparkle.

For the simple, yet elegant ceremony, drapings of ivory satin and chiffon were the perfect soft compliment to tall displays of white Hydrangea and Dendrobium Orchids sitting atop silver pedestals.

For the reception, we stepped it up with bright pops of color on silver crinkle taffeta linens all lit by pink and purple lighting. Fuchsia Phalaenopsis Orchids, vibrant purple Hydrangea, twisted pink Calla Lilies and bursts of green Cymbidium Orchids in tall vases made breathtaking tablescapes as guests danced the night away and toasted the happy couple.

Surfing the Web with Style

FOTW recently created the decor for a fun summer cocktail reception for AOL on Trump Soho’s chic pool deck. We used contemporary green Cymbidium Orchids with turquoise wire and matching turquoise-hued water while green Sago Palm added a tropical feel in a larger arrangement. AOL’s bold and bright brand colors popped against sweeping views of Manhattan for this festive affair.

Luxe Coach Style

Flowers of the World was so excited to design the floral decor for a very special awards dinner for Coach at Trump Soho’s Sohi event space. Ashley, our Special Events Coordinator, brought Coach’s simple, clean and elegant vision to life with snowball Hydrangea and modern Phalaenopsis, both in a chic white. Coach’s whimsical and colorful handbag cookie favors popped off the plate in contrast to the luxe white scene.
